A transcript from a January 6 committee interview with General Mark Milley shows the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff agreeing with Nancy Pelosi that former President Trump was “crazy” and assuring her that the nuclear codes were “safe.”

The conversation between the pair came two days after the riot at the Capitol and is described by CBS News correspondent Robert Costa as “an extraordinary moment in American history.”

The transcript shows the committee relaying parts of the conversation to Milley for comment.

“What prompts her call is concern about the President’s stability or mental health,” they state. “She even says in the call, ‘You know he’s crazy, don’t you,’ and she is reported to have said, General Milley, that you agreed with her.”
