Biden Claims to Have Taken Train Over Collapsed Bridge That Didn’t Have Rail Lines

While addressing the collapse of the Francis Scott Key bridge, Biden attempted to appear relatable to the residents by Balitmore within the first hundred words of his speech, claiming to have both driven over, and taken a train over the bridge many times. 

“At about 1:30, a container ship struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which I’ve been over many, many times commuting from the state of Delaware either on a train or by car,” Biden said. 

As many could’ve probably guessed, there are no rail lines over the bridge, and therefore no trains run over it. Even the claim that he drove over the bridge many times is questionable - as former RNC Deputy Communications Director Zach Parkinson pointed out, Biden has spoken about taking Amtrak for over 8,000 roundtrips between Wilmington and D.C., making it questionable that he apparently regularly also commuted by car.
