BREAKING: Melania Trump releases new video, asks why didn’t law enforcement arrest Thomas Matthew Crooks before assassination attempt

Former First Lady Melania Trump released a video on Tuesday criticizing law enforcement for not arresting gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks before he was able to open fire on her husband at his Butler, Pennsylvania rally in July.

"The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience. Now, the silence around it feels heavy," Trump said. "I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech. There is definitely more to this story and we need to uncover the truth." The video closed with a photo of Melania Trump's upcoming memoir, Melania, which "invites readers into her world, offering an intimate portrait of a woman who has lived an extraordinary life. Melania includes stories and images never before shared with the public."

2024 GOP presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump was struck in the ear by the 20-year-old gunman, two attendees were injured, and one attendee, former fire chief Corey Comperatore, was killed as he shielded his family from the gunfire. In the wake of the shooting, Kimberley Cheatle resigned as head of the US Secret Service and several agents were placed on leave. The assassination attempt against Donald Trump is the subject of Jack Posobiec and Joshua Lisec's upcoming book Bulletproof: How a Shot Meant for Donald Trump Took Out Joe Biden.
