Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo quietly considering a run for New York City mayor: report

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is reportedly weighing the option to run for mayor in New York City if current Mayor Eric Adams decides to step aside. 

According to Page Six, Cuomo has been quietly polling his chances for a successful campaign and is "leaning towards" running. 

A representative told the outlet, "The Governor has made it clear he supports the mayor and there’s nothing new here.”

When asked recently about running for mayor, Cuomo said, "We need [Adams] to do his job" but that he "is flattered." 

A hypothetical Slingshot's poll of 600 registered voters reported by Politico earlier this month showed that Cuomo would win an election with 22 percent of the vote. However, 35 percent of those polled said they were undecided about the 12 candidates presented.
