During Hunter Biden's trial, his infamous "laptop from hell" was entered into evidence, laying to rest any doubt that it was, in fact, real. In the days since, a number of Republicans have called out the 51 intelligence officials who had originally deemed it to be "Russian disinformation," casting doubt on its authenticity in the lead-up to the 2020 election.
The lawmakers said the people in question, who have refused to apologize for their actions, should be investigated and potentially criminally prosecuted, or punished by having their employment terminated or security clearances revoked if they still work in government.
"I think there needs to be an investigation into every single one of them," Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) told the Daily Mail during congressional baseball practice. "We know that the intel community never operates in absolutes and the fact that we had 51 come forward and try to put forward a narrative that this was disinformation, misinformation when everyone knew full well that it wasn't, that it was very real." She said it "speaks volumes about the politicization and the weaponization of the DOJ and the IC."
