During a CNN town hall with Anderson Cooper, Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that she will never allow America "to have a border that is not secure."

Cooper pressed Harris on a previous debate where he noted her stance against decriminalizing border crossings. “I never intended, nor will I ever allow America to have a border that is not secure,” Harris replied. “I believe we need to deal with illegal immigration.”

She then directed viewers to her website for more details on her plans. “There need to be consequences, which is why part of my plan is outlined there. Again, please go to KamalaHarris.com,” she said. “Sorry to throw a website at you, but why not? You’ll see that my plan includes measures to increase resources and penalties for illegal crossings.”

It remains unclear whether Harris referred people to her website because she didn’t fully recall her plan or because the plan is so bad she feared sharing it.

Cooper also questioned why, just weeks before the first presidential debate, the Biden administration instituted executive actions to curb illegal border crossings instead of doing so earlier.
