Musk Versus the Australian Government: Businessman Warns Against Labor’s ‘Ministry of Truth’

Australian authorities are locked in a legal battle with American billionaire Elon Musk after eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant ordered the platform takedown footage of a Sydney church stabbing on April 15.

X said it had geo-blocked the content in Australia but refused to comply with a global takedown order, saying such a move would violate freedom of speech and was beyond the jurisdiction of local authorities.

The eSafety commissioner on April 22 won an injunction forcing X to remove the posts for all users globally. The Big Tech company has two days to challenge the order.
