Senator Tuberville: Biden Title IX Modifications Will Destroy ‘Opportunities For Generations Of Women And Girls’

Republican Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville is warning President Joe Biden’s administration that its modifications to Title IX will destroy “opportunities for generations of women and girls at the behest of liberal extremism.”

The Daily Wire first obtained Tuberville’s letter to U.S. Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, which comes after the administration announced that the department would follow through on its December 2021 proposition to redefine sex to include  “sex stereotypes, sex-related characteristics (including intersex traits), pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation and gender identity.”

Title IX rules focus on discrimination on the basis of sex, specifically in education. The Biden administration’s policies would specify that students could not be discriminated against based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Education Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Wire.

Tuberville’s letter draws on reports that the Biden administration modifications would allow biological males to participate in women’s sports — a phenomenon which Tuberville notes “has already received criticism from across the country.”
