Donald Trump released a much-anticipated statement on his stance on abortion for his second term earlier today on his Truth Social platform.

In it, Trump championed his role in getting Roe v. Wade overturned and condemned the practice of abortion while stating his belief that setting policy on it should be in the hands of the states.

“My view is now that we have abortion where everyone wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation, or perhaps both. And whatever they decide must be the law of the land. In this case, the law of the state,” Trump said. He added “Many states will be different. Many will have a different number of weeks, or some will have more conservative than others, and that’s what they will be. At the end of the day, this is all about the will of the people,”

He also backed IVF as it faces legal challenges in Alabama, and offered support for American families and family creation, which he promised the GOP would always support.
