Virginia leaders criticize FBI Deputy Director’s proposal to move National Academy to Alabama

Virginia leaders are speaking up after FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino’s proposal to move its training facility to Alabama.

On Wednesday, Senators Mark Warner (D-VA) and Tim Kaine (D-VA), along with Representative Eugene Vindman (D-VA-07) criticized Bongino’s proposal to move the FBI National Academy from Quantico, Va. to Huntsville, Al.

The training facility consists of a 10-week training program for local, federal and international law enforcement officials that are not part of the FBI.

“As Vice Chariman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, I expect Congress to be deeply skeptical of any plan to uproot the FBI’s National Academy from its longtime home at Quantico and relocate it to Huntsville,” Warner said.
